In December of 1835 Colt filed a patent for his revolver in England, and in February of 1836 filed one in America. Subsequent years saw additional patents. The Colt revolver was one of the first multi-shot weapons to be put into mass production. It was the weapon of choice for one of the Wild West’s most notable outlaws, Butch Cassidy.
